The outstanding quality of the library collection at South School is made possible by yearly parent contributions. Mrs. James uses all contributions made to the Judy Goetzl Birthday Book fund to purchase new books, Playaways, and CDs for the library. Our library is a community resource that benefits our students, staff, and the town of Hillsborough. Contributions this year can be made at the $25.00 level or at the $50.00 level. Children whose parents contribute $25.00 will have the opportunity to select a special book in honor of their birthday from the group of books Mrs. James purchases over the summer. Children whose parents contribute $50.00 will have the opportunity to select two new books, a new book on CD, or Playaway in honor of their birthday. Children are delighted to have their birthday honored through the gift of a book, Playaway, or CD to the library. Alternatively, contributions may be made on behalf of a staff member who has touched the life of your child. Judy Goetzl was South‛s amazing librarian for over 20 years; your contribution ensures that the diverse collection she created will remain useful and stimulating.

If you join the Judy Goetzl Birthday Book Club:

    * A book, CD, or Playaway is purchased in your child‛s honor (depending on the level of the contribution);

    * A bookplate is applied to either the inner cover of the book or the outside of the CD or Playaway case, indicating the name of the donor (your child or another honoree) and his or her birthday;

    * Names of all birthday book members and the book selected are posted on the South Library website (www.southlibrary.org, “Birthday Books”); and

    * Your child receives the special thrill of being the first person to borrow the item!
